fishing for bream is also good during this time in the early morning and late
afternoon. Bass fishing is excellent in the spring. Good areas to fish include
the creeks end channels on the upper end of the lake. Best baits include
crankbaits, plastic worms and topwater plugs. Live shiners can also be used
effectively for trophy bass. All black bass less than 14 inches in length must
be immediately released unharmed. Good strings of speckled perch are taken in
January and February on live minnows. White bass may be caught above the lake in
March using live crayfish or grass shrimp. The lake is stocked annually with
striped bass. Best fishing is in the spring and fall, using deep-diving
minnow-type lures. In the fall, stripers can be caught in schools by watching
birds congregate to catch shad pushed to the top by feeding stripers.
