Lake Notes: Specializing in
Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie and Bluegill. Floral City Pool, Inverness
Pool, and Hernando Pool are the main segments of the lake which are separated by
natural features and water control structures. Typical cover includes
Hydrilla, Bonnet Lily Pads, reeds, and cattails. A series of canals
connects the lake chain together, and action can be good in these canals.

From SR 200 go west onto E. Withlacoocheee Trail (CR 39). Travel .1 mile along
N. Oaks Way and E. Riverside Drive
River Notes: Specializing in
Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Shellcracker. Trout, Redfish and Spotted
Sunfish also caught. This portion of the river empties into the Gulf of
Mexico at the western end of C.R. 40 near the community of Yankeetown. Bass,
bluegill, shellcracker, and spotted sunfish (stumpknockers) are favorites with
anglers. During cooler months trout, redfish, mangrove snapper and an occasional
tarpon venture up the river. Connects to Gulf of Mexico.

River Notes: Specializing in
Largemouth Bass, Redear Sunfish and Bluegill. Trout, Redfish and Spotted
Sunfish also caught. Lots of small bass provide plenty of
catch-and-release action in feeder creeks during the winter months. Redear
sunfish, bluegill and spotted sunfish are abundant in the Kings Bay area of the
headwaters. Marine species such as trout, redfish, mullet, and mangrove snapper
are common in the river during cooler months. Connects to Gulf of Mexico.

Specializing in Largemouth Bass, Bream, Redfish and Trout. The headwater
springs of the Homosassa River are home to both freshwater and saltwater fish.
Live baitfish are good for largemouth bass, redfish and trout. Earthworms,
shrimp and small spinner baits are good for bream and mangrove snappers. Manatee
are common in the winter months and care should be taken when operating a boat
during this time. Connects to Gulf of Mexico.
Chassahowitzka River

Largemouth Bass, Bluegill and Shellcracker. Connects to Gulf of Mexico.
Bass, bluegill and shellcracker fishing is best during the spring. As with other
Citrus County coastal streams, marine sportfish are present during cooler
weather. The Chassahowitzka River is one of the more scenic rivers in Florida. Accessible
only by boat or canoe, the Chassahowitzka River is one of the state's
Outstanding Florida Waters. The clear shallow river runs from the head
springs through the 30,000 acre Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge to the
Gulf of Mexico.
